This place is dope! Food is delicious and all their selections of pastries. I actually had a hard time choosing, then I saw pumpkin danish. When I first walked up to the outside counter I was immediately given a cool response from the baker behind the screen, who took my order. Great personality. I met the owner, she's super cool. I'm from Maine, this place feels like home. Love what you have done here, great job!
As another small business owner, I can appreciate when I see hard work and love go into a product/business. Julie is a 1 woman show who occasionally has 2 others working with her. She fulfills multiple large wedding orders for breakfast, lunch as well as dessert each weekend and still manages to keep her doors open for her local regulars as well as tourists that pass through on their travels. She is the 1st to open early and offer free coffee to line workers, DPW, 1st responders & plow drivers during the winter. She will greet you with a smile and is always happy to customize your order for you. Stand up owner and human being! We have been ordering from her for 5 years now for our own family as well as countless wedding groups and never once has anyone been disappointed. Highly recommend stopping by!
Just keep in mind that here in the Valley, we are a VERY popular spot for tourists and sometimes on the weekends our small mom and pop shops can be extremely busy. Be patient, be kind & plan ahead accordingly for the quickest and most pleasant experience.

Flies bugs crawling on the food. Incredibly rude staff.
Flies crawling all over their bakery item. What an awful staff. I drove over an hour to pick up all their cupcakes. The way they just spoke to my sweet husband and son was disgusting. I called it to them and they didn't even apologize. We will never come back. My daughter with autism and a intellectual disability even told them to behave nice to people. Amazing when a young teenager has more sense being with her disabilities Shame on both of you.
Batter Up Bakery is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Chocorua. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this cozy spot is a must visit. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the comforting aroma of fresh-baked goods and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The pastries are phenomenal! Everything is homemade, with just the right balance of sweetness and care. The cinnamon buns are my absolute favorite! I'll tell you a secret.. ask them to heat it up for you! They also offer a great selection of coffee and tea, making it the perfect place to start your morning or take a relaxing break in the afternoon. The staff are friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about what they do. It feels more like visiting a friend’s kitchen than a business In the best way. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area. Small-town charm, big-time flavor!
Cute shop and great location but don’t come here if you’re in a rush. It took 35min for them to pour cold brew from a can. They should have someone prioritizing quicker orders behind the counter so you’re not waiting.
The food is okay, the pastries are way too sweet, and the woman taking our order seemed to be visibly upset that we were ordering food. It served well as a pit stop for lunch on our way home, but I wouldn't seek this place out.

Julie was great communicator and the cakes at our wedding were as moist and delicious as those we had for our tasting. She accommodated our request for one layer to be gluten free, and as promised, it was as yummy as the other two layers. Cakes were iced and decorated as we wished – absolutely beautiful. We had multiple compliments from our guests. All in all – fantastic!

Excellent place to stop for breakfast, lunch or a snack! The sandwiches were made to order, very fresh and delicious combinations. They also have coffee and many bakery items to choose from. The staff were friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be back!

There are not enough words to describe how fantastic Julie is to work with and how wonderful her cakes are. Not only is her work gorgeous it tastes fantastic. I was married last fall and Julie made our cake and cupcakes. People are still asking me who made the cake and continue to talk about how they were the best cupcakes they ever had. You truly won’t be disappointed trusting your cake to Julie at Batter Up!

Hands down the best bakery around! Placed an order for our daughter’s 1st birthday….that was 5 years ago and we haven’t stopped ordering since. With 3 kiddos we’ve always got something to celebrate and Julie’s cakes never disappoint. They’re almost too beautiful to eat! Julie goes above and beyond every time and every cake and cupcake has tasted just as outstanding as it’s looked. I can’t recommend this bakery enough!!

Perfect cake for a mountain themed wedding
We loved our wedding cake and cupcakes from Batter Up! We were married this past summer and finding a cake vendor last minute was difficulty due to COVID-19. Batter Up was super helpful and very quick to respond to my questions and needs. They provided us with a beautiful cake my husband and I loved and our family loved the cupcakes that matched our theme perfectly. We could not have asked for a better bakery for our wedding!

Julie met with us pre-Covid to plan our October 2020 wedding. Then COVID…..Julie was amazing, adapting to our now April 2020 wedding, and was so kind and understanding. The resulting cake/cupcakes were INCREDIBLE. I could not recommend Batter Up enough!!

Delicious Desserts and Easy to Worth With!
Julie was awesome to work with! Her bakery was referred to my by the local area Facebook group for my wedding since I was unfamiliar with the area vendors. I had a microwedding, (only 32 people). Since it was so small, we originally thought we’d just buy some stuff close to where we reside, but realized that would be tough to transport a small cake and other desserts for a two hour car ride to where we got married.
That being said, I reached out to her only about two and half weeks before my wedding date (talk about procrastination on my part!). Julie was super responsive, offered picture examples of past work of her’s, and conducting my orders entirely via Facebook messenger. She even delivered to my wedding site and I had no idea where her bakery actually was as I had never been there in person (and still haven’t, need to next time in the area)!
Our cake was small, as was the rest of our order (variety of cupcakes, cannolis, and dessert bars to feed our small number of guests). I wish I took pictures of her work to share looked just as delicious as they actually tasted!!
It’s probably good her bakery is two hours from where I live, otherwise I’d be in there twice a week buying goodies!!

We used Batter Up for our wedding at The Preserve at Chocorua and are so happy we did! Julie is so friendly and great to work with. We wanted to do cupcakes and a small cutting cake, and she was so helpful with flavors and designs. On the wedding day, she told us to just leave our cake cutting set and flowers on the table and she would set everything up. It looked AMAZING. Our guests loved the cupcakes, and they were truly beautiful. I’d highly recommend Batter Up!

Have had multiple birthday cakes made (including a gluten free one) and they were all amazing! Tasted great and looked great. Everyone at the parties raved about them. Have also gotten quite a few treats recently (lemon bars yum!) that were delicious. Julie is kind and super helpful as well as being a fantastic baker.
